India’s Stesalit Systems Ltd has launched what it dubbed as “unique” Internet of Things (IoT) solution for Indian agricultural farms through an IoT Gateway and SaaS model, delivered through a mobile app, StesalitAgro.

StesalitAgro is powered by Stesalit IIoT gateway, KrishiCon and KrishiSmart Agriculture Sensor Box which communicates through the latest 6LowPAN RF connectivity on IPv6 architecture and makes it a complete wireless sensing solution integrated with Cloud and delivered through a mobile app.

Intelligent Agriculture using IoT, it said, was the next revolution in agriculture and would significantly change the way farming was done today.

Stesalit KrishiSmart connects a host of sensors to track soil conditions, atmospheric data and micro and macronutrients and report the same in real time to farmers through the mobile app allowing them to take informed decisions just when it is required. The system also uses Remote Sensing Imagery to identify the chlorophyll levels and report the plant health conditions on near to real-time basis.

“Intelligent and Climate Resilient Agriculture, with informed usage of agricultural inputs through widespread use of IoT and cloud technology are imminent needs of Indian agriculture,” said Hemant Khemka, Managing Director of Stesalit. “Stesalit has been in the forefront of bringing in such technologies in the simplest forms possible, and the StesalitAgro mobile app for IoT is a step in that direction,” he added.

With core competence in positioning technology, Internet of Things, and intelligent electronics, Stesalit is into creating and implementing technology for a smarter world, while having all these indigenous technology developed in-house.
