IoT conference in Berlin shall examine monetary opportunities it represents

An upcoming event in Berlin, Germany is all set to discuss threadbare the opportunities presented by the Internet of Things (IoT).

wsnberlinTo be held from April 1, 2014, the ‘Internet of Things & WSN Europe’ organised by market research firm IDTechEx, will address the opportunity for the IoT. Increasingly, as all of us have noticed, cellular phones are linearly connecting people to other people and devices. Machine-to-Machine (M2M) automation with wireless sensors is being deployed but usually in islands of disparate systems.

But where and how, in the scale of hype to reality, can the IoT profit suppliers and users today? What are the pragmatic steps needed to enable the IoT and widespread deployment of wireless sensor networks that are feasible and based on an ROI and not the hope someone else will pay for this?

These are some of the questions that shall be addressed at the Internet of Things & WSN Europe. The event shall address the business models, case studies, actions, profitability and missing gaps.

According to the oragnaisers, there will be examples within key market verticals and appraisal of the new enabling technologies becoming available, such as printed electronics. Attendees will learn the latest progress from companies such as IBM, Volvo, Disney, Intel, Deutsche Telekom, CSICO, ABB, NEC, Bosch, Gemalto, ARM and many more.
