Samsung Electronics Co. has said it had developed an application processor (AP) for Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
According to a report by the YonHap news agency, the South Korean tech giant said it had completed the development of the Exynos i T200 that boasts improved security. AP chips play a key role in activating operating systems and applications.
Industry watchers said Samsung may start full-fledged commercialization of the new chip as early as the second quarter.
