Samsung President sees IoT as “profitable” way ahead for company, announces Samsung Business

Hannover, March 17, 2015: Some months ago, electronics giant Samsung had talked of its new commitment to the Internet of Things (IoT). Today, showing its commitment to the IoT ecosystem vis-a-vis the enterprise, it launched ‘Samsung Business’.

Samsung Business is a “dedicated brand” that unifies Samsung’s end-to-end business solution portfolio. This includes tailored offerings for industry-specific uses across retail, education, hospitality, transportation, and logistics, announced the South Korean vendor today.

Won-Pyo Hong, President, Samsung Electronics, said in his keynote speech at CeBit 2015 being held at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds today that IoT had provided Samsung an opportunity for profit.  Hong addressed the IoT for enterprises and spoke of how Samsung was creating an innovative, open and collaborative IoT ecosystem.

“As more and more businesses adopt the Internet of Things, we have a great opportunity to enhance customer value with increased productivity and profit,” Hong said.

He also added that Samsung had almost overcome certain IoT obstacles.

Samsung Business shall unifis Samsung’s end-to-end business solution portfolio, including tailored offerings for industry-specific uses across retail, education, hospitality, transportation, and logistics.

The company is showcasing its enterprise technology solutions and services at the exhibition, across retail, education, healthcare, transportation, hospitality and finance. The six experiential zones at Samsung’s booth allow customers to experience firsthand the user-friendly and secure experiences across Samsung devices, solutions and services.
