The idea for this project came to this team’s mind about 3 years ago when a team member’s father with Alzheimer’s wandered away and got lost. In the search for a wearable alarm/notification and home-monitoring device to help family members avoid similar incidents, the team developed a “keyfob and home monitoring circuit”. This eventually led to the team working to transform this concept into the iWanditAll KoolThings: KoolWand and KoolBridge platform.
For developing this platform, the Texas, USA-based KoolTechs Inc. has collaborated with DeciveLab Inc., on design. It has now started a campaign on Kickstarter’s crowd funding website for the purpose of bringing the system into mass production.
But before you start knowing the overall ‘iWanditAll’ platform, it is necessary to grasp what KoolThings essentially is all about. The latter consists of 2 components: the multifunction, multisensory KoolWand and KoolBridge. The latter acts as a bridge and converts WiFi / Bluetooth / BLE commands from Android or iOS mobile devices to Infrared / Bluetooth / BLE signals for the purpose of controlling variety of consumer and electronic home appliances or devices wirelessly or via IR blaster cable.
KoolWand, on the other hand, acts as a tool for a variety of day-to-day activities – monitoring child safety, preventing thefts, keeping your pet safe, find misplaced phones and keys, pedometer and many more. It also acts as a universal remote control that transforms the mobile device into an ultimate remote control for IR Based TVs/DVDs, 
Camcorders, LED lights, Apple TV box and many more. The IR codes and programmed Macros can be shared with mobile devices through the wi-fi based app. This tool can convert DSLR Cameras, Smartphone cameras, smartphone music players to remotes to play or convert music or watch videos. The remote control features are initiated with just a press of a button or swiping the touch screens, also known as Gesture Control. So, what the ‘iWanditAll’ platform does is act like a magic wand, it merges all your favorite wireless gadgets into one simple, user friendly system that does it all. It becomes a multifunctional, multisensory, IoT connected, iOS / Android based platform, combining a variety of wireless devices into one system which offers personal security, health and fitness, smart home with “autotainment” (automation and entertainment) features, among others.
Here’s what the company wants to do with the crowdsourced fund:
. To tool/mold the final KoolWand ID/enclosure; to design the top cover of KoolBridge enclosure
• To create tooling for plastic parts, and packaging
• To go through FCC test, and if needed, to fab the final version of PCB’s to fix unexpected wireless, system test, reliability issues
• To continue to develop, test, debug KoolApps with integrated features and with even sleeker UI screens.
• To continue adding user-friendly programmability to KoolApps Home Automation application. This will allow users to intuitively set up new triggering events and actions to take when these events occur.
