Wales’ first IoT accelerator programme

The first-ever Internet of Things (IoT) accelerator programme for Wales was launched recently.

According to a news report, The Internet of Things Accelerator Wales (IoTA Wales) was jointly created and designed by Innovation Point, The Accelerator Network (TAN), Barclays Eagle Labs, Inspire Wales and the Development Bank of Wales.

The 12-week programme aims to identify start-up businesses in key areas, including cyber security, energy, manufacturing, education and agriculture.

Ten businesses will receive a £50,000 investment in exchange for a 10 percent equity stake. They will also gain access to facilities, academic expertise and free creative office space to promote growth.

Partners on the programme include Sony, Airbus, Cardiff University, Group Endeavr Wales, Sorensen, Business Wales, TechUK, Pinnacl and RS Labs.
